Brief Biography – Carolyn S. Jones

I am a relationship oriented person who creates opportunities to be involved with others from the outset of a project or assignment. I like to move around and may “do business” in various locations. I like to make people feel welcome by stopping by or calling to touch base or chat. I prefer physical space which facilitates interaction. I see change as an ongoing process and welcome change and am enthusiastic about future possibilities “If it isn’t broke, break it”. I believe what is accomplished is more important than how the group works together. I expect the best ideas and solutions to emerge from arguments and debate, and enjoy give and take. I believe feedback is important to focus on results and to identify weaknesses and areas for improvement.

I have broad experience in healthcare which includes medical-surgical nursing, psychiatric nursing and am currently an Adjunct Professor working with nursing students. I have held leadership positions in major teaching facilities across the United States from Team Leader, Charge Nurse, Administrative Supervisor, Program Manager and Associate Director of Nursing. I have worked in array of healthcare settings which include hospital, clinic, day care treatment and outpatient.

I hold two masters degrees in Nursing (MSN) and Business (MBA): I am psychiatric certified by the ANCC, member of American College of Healthcare Executives, Psychiatric Nurses Association and Sigma Theta Tau Organization at DeSales University.

I most recently have taken an assignment to work with nursing students for their clinical rotations in medicine and psychiatry at two major hospitals in the Leigh Valley area. I worked at Bergen Regional Medical Center as ADON responsible for direct patient care and lead strategic direction working with SVP and VP of Behavior Health Division to establish service and program objectives for 15 behavioral health units, Partial Hospitalization and MICA Program. Organized and implemented a float pool of over 134 per diems to cover in-house needs for patient care.

My passions are building relationships with people, mentoring / teaching, Leadership (empowering others and making a difference), being part of a winning team, process improvement /continuous improvement and collaboration with others to accomplish measurable goals.

I live with my husband Ed, near our grown children in Stroudsburg, Pa. I relax by spending time with friends and family in a variety of settings and spending time at LA Fitness trying to get “fit:. I am active in the Alpha Romeo and Antique Care Club and enjoy meeting people from all over the United States and Canada. I am active in my congregation and look for opportunities to serve others.
